Earth Hour 2009 - 28 March

At work, we will start on Friday 27 March through the weekend. At home, 28 March Saturday from 8:30 till 9:30 PM.

According to our associate director, "In 2008, NSI [Northern Sydney Institute] reduced its electricity use by 5% on 2007 levels . That’s a saving of 927 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. We also purchase 6% of our electricity from renewable energy sources, saving an additional 1,012 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. We want to improve on this in 2009."

See Earth Hour 2008 posts here and here.

yihaa! more and more bloggers support earth hour. this becomes bigger every year. it's good to know that you've supported it last year and this year as well!

what's sad is we'll be out somewhere that time. i hope that place will support this call.

I guess every bit counts. If you are off somewhere, donG I hope you will turning off most of appliances off before you go on a road trip. At least you are off and enjoying yourself somewhere and not consuming power at home...

By the way, I saw the Philippines on the EH 2009 world map... there are lots of supporters out there and I am glad Pinoys are one of them!

Definitely Sidney! I find that some families do that every Friday, just an excuse to have family bonding away from cell phones, games, computers and TV.
